This species occurs in the Indo-Australian region, extending to Fiji, Honk Kong and Taiwan,
from where it was originally found. In S.E. Asia it appears in Thailand, W. Malysia, Singapore,
Java and Sarawak.
Adults have been reared from copra, fallen leaves and flowers of Cocos nucifera, seeds of 娑羅樹 Shorea
and Aglaia wallichii.
The larvae may be general feeders in plant detritus.
