Hi Randolph,
I am pretty certain they are from Taiwan but they are Polyphagids not Blaberids (Pycnoscelus, Opisthoplatia and Rhabdoblatta are very different= Blaberids). I saw that really neat roach photo you put up. Is that a polyphagid? It looks like one but that doesn't necessarily mean it is. Probably you can find females and nymphs under ground in piles of leaf litter in the areas you find the males.
