I got to know about the impurity of some Phal pulcherrima lookalike plants recently from an very experienced orchid species collector cum nursery orchid owner. He did not elaborate.
I guess certain tell tale signs to look out for are smaller than usual lateral lobes of the midlobe, errect-incurved lateral lobes of the midlobe, a lightly-arched column etc. In the end, I think only those very wild-looking (i.e. "wind-blown" small-sized flowers) are truely Phall pulcherrima.
Accordingly to Eric Christenson, the dorsal sepal should be about only 1.2cm for Phal pulcherrima (with callus very shallowly notched) and Phal regneriana (with a well-developed bifid callus), and 2.2cm for Phal buyssonniana.

Speciosa大大, 能否更加詳述混入eq血統的疑點有哪些? 感謝.

Disastrous situation for a diehard purist (i.e. species collector). I collect mainly Phalaenopsis, Paraphalaenopsis and Vanda species. Lack the space and money to collect the hybrids as well (although they can be very beautiful).
